Well it’s a good news and bad news day today – good news.
Henry is back and is getting on with the gable end of the rear extension. This will involve internal blockwork tied on to the timbers and built up in between the studs for the fascia board. We have gone for quite a small fascia so it doesn’t hang over to much and block out the light. The rest of the house has quite a large soffit that we had to follow the lines of but it goes with the house. There will be a very large window built in that goes from floor to ceiling which looks out directly onto the garden. Once this is finish it’s another visit from the scaffolders to have a re-jig then the chimney can be worked on.
The bad news is that the rocket is now on holiday but in one final tiling dash he got loads on before going away – he has however left me loads to do ready for his return so he can have another stab. I could get another tiler but they just wouldn’t be the rocket, so it’s felt and batten for a few more weeks I guess.
