After a long weekend off from the project and the winter months upon us its all about finishing the roof.

Hinge & Bracket are back – thanks lads – and they are finishing off all the tricky bits and weather proofing around the solar panels.

The chimney stack with all its lead work also needs to be finished – or dressed as the boys say. Dressing lead involves whacking it with a tool which looks like a big shoe horn?

The soil pipe for the waste drainage also needs a lead apron around it for weathering purposes as this pipe has to be here for airflow and it is something that will be checked by building control.

All in all I’m very glad we have reached this stage and look forward to getting the last bit of scaffolding down – its taken a little longer (well quite a bit) than I first projected but I have got the roof tiles I wanted and the all important solar panels
