In the eternal words of the infamous Glen Fry – “the heat is on”
Yes we finally have a bit of heating here at the big build.
We haven’t had to rough it really as we have always had hot water but with the colder snap in the air its time to blow the budget and get some heating on.
To marry up with the fantastic RM Solar 300liter twin coil cylinder we have fitted a Keston boiler. These are supper energy efficient with a fantastic output of 44KW = plenty when used in conjunction with the solar panels – which I promise will be fitted very soon!
Remember when choosing a position for your boiler and cylinder that there will; be expansion tanks, valves, ports & in my case an underfloor heating manifold to fit in as well. Also it’s worth bearing in mind that 300 liters of very hot water weighs quite a bit – so make sure it’s on a sound level base!
At the moment the full pipe work has not been completed as each floor of the house will be zoned with a separate run for the towels rails (primary) and a bronze pump for the hot water – more on this to follow as I’ve got paint colors to choose (well be informed of!)
