All hands on deck – its time for the kitchen & garage roof!
This is quite a big chunk of work and one of those jobs you start and really should finish – or get to a stage where its water tight.
The old tar & shingle surface has to be removed which is a case of getting a skip as close as possible and ripped everything off the old deck and throwing it in. the old lead has to be removed and once it’s at this stage you can see the structure underneath.
This is where it can go horribly wrong.
Fortunately there is only a bit of rot to a couple of surface boards so with two hours and £100 quid  I can get it sorted ready for Sausage and Dan to start felting.
This is a three layer torch on affair done in stages. Also all the new chases have to be cut ready for the new lead flashing so there is loads to do. The chosen color of top layer mineral felt im going for is brown, this is a very good match to the roof tiles and helps tie it all in. After this bit of roof is finished I can get the kitchen lantern light sorted!
