Why Keep A Diary?
On a project like this is so easy to miss things out or have a hiccup in the streamlined daily workings, so to record details for all and sundry its dairy time. There will be great tit-bits of information that will come from this page for any one who is going to do their own big build or just fancies following this one.
Remember if it happens we will tell you as we don’t know everything so things will crop up - so see you from the comfort of your desk every day.

A lot of different things are happening this week including getting the top floor ready for carpets. This includes the final electrical fronts which are MK logic range, with an attempt to make things future proof with there TV, DAB and dual Satelite connections which will hopefully cover all things entertainment!

The eaves areas of the top floor have also been insulated (for noise) and borded out for the all important storage of stuff like christmas decorations and suitcases. We all suffer with storage solutions!

Finally another visit from the master of plaster - Jimbo - has seen off the lid for the master bedroom. Tacked and skimmed so that the next step for the room will be skirting and paint followed my more carpet!

The season has definately chaged and we need to step up a gear and get the heating operational in more area's of the house. Including the maste r bed dressing room.
This involves hinding all the pipe work. Fortunately with the amount of stud walls its a fairly straight forwrd process but there are quite a few pipes to hide. We have solars, heating, primary, hot & cold and assoiciated cabling for stats and switching.
All the pipe work is in Hep2o plastic barrier pipe with the exception of the solar as this has to be in 22mm copper with compression fittings -  a full install guide will follow with piccies to make it easier to understand - its my 1st solar system too.
Another chilly day - put an extra jumper on only works for so long!!!!!! I'm on it Pip

There are a few other jobs that i need to pick off in the spare bed - bed 3.

These include the wiring for the Osma underfloor heating for the en-suite bathroom. This is a mat system that has 7 day timer which is great for week end lay ins?
The final commisioning will be done once the room has been compltely painted.

Skirtings and architraves have now also been fitted which now just leaves the painting and of course carpets - over to Mrs Lowe!

It's definately catch up time as the project has suffered slightly with other work commitments. So let the paint fly!

When i say fly i mean spray - yes trying a more modern method of painting using a compressor that uses conventional paint sstraight from the tin. Yes it's American!
The idea behind it is that if your walls are dead smooth (yes Jimbo they are) you can get 3 or 4 light coats on instead of one clooped on with a roller - and it works.
I think the best results are on the wood work / MDF skirtings and architraves.
The main wardrobe doors will be made after the carpets are down but the eaves storage doors are done already and have been sprayed.
Also got a lick of paint on the en-suite for bed 3!
